An
article by Lawrence
Stevens, J.D.
entitled Psychiatric
Drugs: Cure or
Quakery? begins with
this line,
"Psychiatric drugs
are worthless, and
most of them are
harmful. Many cause
permanent brain
damage at the doses
customarily given.
Psychiatric drugs
and the profession
that promotes them
are dangers to your
health." Stevens is
a lawyer whose
practice includes
representing
psychiatric
patients. This is a
bold statement well
worth your
attention.
While your
intentions may have
been in the right
place, the solution
may have been
ill-advised. It's
time to take back
your life and quit
the dependency on
psych drugs. As
you've probably
already found out,
these don't cure.
You may feel like a
numb and zombie-like
and thus can't feel
the pain, but is
that anyway to live
your life? |

The Drugs
The past
half a
century has
seen the
evolving of
psychiatric
treatments
from the
crude
pre-frontal
lobotomy and
electric
shock to
just as
potentially
dangerous
drugs such
as Lithium,
Xanax,
Thorazine,
Paxil,
Zoloft and
Prozac, to
name a few.
What's
worse, drug
manufacturers
are
marketing
their
products
directly to
the masses
taking
advantage of
those who
really do
need help
making
promises to
help. But
this help
deals with
symptoms and
never
addresses
the problem.
The quick
fix is
alluring to
those in
pain and
self
medicating
is only a
few steps
away from
getting
their
doctor's
prescription
filled. |

Side
Effects
In an
article
written by
Evelyn
Pringle, a
poignant
point is
made, "While
mania,
psychosis,
anxiety,
agitation,
hostility,
depression,
and
confusion
may be signs
of mental
illness,
these same
"symptoms"
are referred
to as side
effects on
the labels
of the most
commonly
prescribed
psychiatric
medications
used to
treat mental
illness."
Too many
ties are
made between
incidence of
violence and
psych drugs.
Depending on
the
prescription,
side effects
can range
from heart
damage to
suicide.
Psych drugs
are
dangerous,
period. |

DSM Hoax
The DSM
(Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual)
is the so-called
bible for
psychiatry. Every
year the industry
gets together and
come up with new
disorders to add to
their book. Once
they have on the
record, drug
manufacturers then
can come up with the
solution, which of
course is never a
cure. Talk about
imbalance and
disorders make one
feel like their body
is the cause and so
will turn to
medication to
control the unwanted
condition. Taking
countless aspects of
human behavior and
reclassifying them
as a mental illness
with the word
"disorder"
associated with the
behavior. Even key
DSM contributors
admit that there is
no
scientific/medical
validity to the
disorders.
Caffeine-Induced
Sleep Disorder for
those who suffer
sleeplessness after
drinking coffee. If
you have a child who
doesn't like to be
bossed around, he
could be said to
have Oppositional
Defiant Disorder
(hide your kids
now!). And if
you can't quite
figure out algebra,
you could be
suffering from
Mathematics
Disorder. |
ADD/ADHD
There could be an
argument about how
children have and
haven't changed over
the past half a
century. But it was
unheard of just a
few decades ago that
a child could have
Attention Deficit
Disorder. Kids get
bored and they don't
want to mind and sit
still. Instead of
working to burn off
energy or find out
if there is a diet
problem (hormones
added to milk,
additives in most
packaged items not
to mention sugar)
parents look to the
"authorities" for
help. To jump to the
psychiatric
assumption that
children all of a
sudden have a
"imbalance" seems a
bit impractical. For
starters, what
imbalance? There is
no blood test or any
other test to back
up the "imbalance"
theory. Psychiatrist
are notorious for
treating symptoms
and controlling
behavior putting
young bodies with
years of development
at risk with strong
medications such as
Adderall or Ritalin.
These drugs are in
fact amphetamines
and are very
dangerous. It is
never recommended
that parents take
their children off
these medications
cold turkey;
instead, they should
work with an MD who
specializes in
detoxification to
ensure psychotic
breaks and other
side effects don't
occur. |
|
NEVER GO COLD TURKEY
after being on
psychiatric
medications.
Seek professional
advice from a
medical doctor who
specialize in
detoxification.
